A strong brand can lead to job interviews, speaking engagements, promotions, and partnerships. Your personal brand differentiates you from the rest of the pack. Your brand defines your character, it tells you story.
Here are 8 useful tips to grow your brand
Message– Have a message that is clear and consistent across all platforms. You want your subscribers on all social networks, if possible. You can achieve this if you have a consistent message on your platforms.
Audience– Know your audience, you can only give them valuable information if you know what they likes and dislikes. Your audience should relate to your content, the shares, subscribe and likes will naturally follow.
Platforms– You don’t have to be on TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram and every other social media platform out there. Unless you have a team behind you and you don’t have to handle all the sites on your own, this may be too much to handle. Choose 2 platforms instead, ie YouTube for long videos and Instagram for short content. Your long content platform can be used to provide valuable information like tutorials. Short content platforms like Snapchat can be used for engagement with your audience.
Authentic– Gary vee said it best “Be your 100% Authentic, True Self. Don’t “Water it Down’’ In any shape or form. Be the real you, you are building something that will represent you for the rest of your life. It’s not acting, people want to see the real you. There is a reason why most people hate reality shows.
Niche– Picking a niche is the easiest way to break out and get expert recognition. When people think about you they should be able to tie you back to something ie she is a makeup influencer.
Value– You want to be recognized as an expert, but the only way you can do this is if you provide valuable information or services to the customer. The key to this is knowing your audience, if you know their needs and wants. You can provide better services or information to them.
Surveys– Ask the customer/ follower to rank your products. How do they feel about the products or services? This is something you can do on Facebook, YouTube or Facebook Live. Check out my previous post on how to improve your survey response rate.
Engagement- Talk to your customers, this is how you know, if they like you, your products and the services that you offer. You get to find out, how they feel. After all, customer feedback is the most important.
Quality- Don’t focus on the numbers so much, focus on quality. Loyal followers can bring more revenue than having a following of people who don’t necessarily like your content or product. Provide quality service and content, this will lead to conversion.
Remember that your brand should be consistent on and off social media. Avoid the drama on and offline and offer great service. Social Media can be of great benefit and can help you grow quicker and connect with the audience. Social media is also a platform that is used for feedback and everyone can see it. Stay true to yourself, you become your brand and your brand becomes you. Give value to your audience on every platform. This forces interaction between you and your followers and builds a connection and trust. Interact with your followers/customers daily.
